Welcome Home

There are some assignments were you really feel grateful to be witnessing such an important and meaningful event for a community. This was one of those assignments.

Navy Dr. David Schroder is welcomed home from Afghanistan by his children, Cortland, 5, Alessandra, 7, and his wife Kathryn, holding daughter Elinor, 3, during a stop Thursday at St. Raphael School in Rockville. The students and staff waved flags and sang "God Bless America" as the doctor and his wife arrived at school to pick up their children. He has been serving at a military hospital in Afghanistan since July.
